No dental restoration material compares with porcelain in terms of its versatility, durability, and aesthetic properties. Although it can be expensive and tricky for dentists to provide – as it requires specialized equipment and training – the results of a porcelain tooth restoration speak for themselves. Because we’ve invested in the resources to offer porcelain fillings to our guests, Better Dental is pleased to be able to offer a fifty year guarantee on our porcelain dental restorations. That means if you choose a porcelain filling, implant, bridge, or crown – and it breaks in 3 years, 5 years, or even 50 – we will restore it without any net charge to you. A common warranty timeframe is 2-5 years, but we like to really stand behind our workmanship.
Your porcelain filling procedure can usually be done in a single visit using our CEREC porcelain-sculpting technology. This means there is no need for a temporary filling, or multiple visits. We will digitally scan your tooth using our 3D imaging wand, then create a digital schematic detailing the exact dimensions of the filling. Our computer-asssited porcelain mill uses robotic arms to sculpt your customized filling. In this case, your filling would be installed and ready to go that same day, with a strong, durable bond.
A porcelain inlay is a custom made filling used to repair damage to the tooth’s biting surface. Inlays are suitable for repairing small to medium cavities. Onlays on the other hand are ideal for medium to large areas of damage, where a large portion of the tooths biting surface has decayed. In every case, the best solution is the one which allows us to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible.
The advent of 3D porcelain sculpting has revolutionized the way all fillings can be done. Until recently, many people with large cavities only had the option of getting a fullcoverage crown. But today with help the help of CEREC technology, conservative porcelain inlays and onlays are more convenient than ever before.
